Dinner benefits veteran group
The Rainbow Inn of Dunkirk is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner to benefit the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council. The dinner is scheduled for Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Rainbow Inn, 182 E. Second St. Cost of dinner $6.50 per person.
Basket raffles and live music will be provided. Come and join the fun and help support our veterans. For additional information call 366-7170

Spoke Folk Community Bicycle Project has new and updated website
The Spoke Folk Com-munity Bicycle Project has a new and updated website which can be viewed at www.spokefolk.net. Although still without a permanent home base for some of its programs and services, new initiatives include the Every Kid Deserves a Bike project and the Meals on Two Wheels bicycle delivery program. The new site also includes a brief Spoke Folk history, mission statement and contact information. It will also serve as a way to keep the community in-formed regarding the search for a new home and the eventual return of popular Spoke Folk programs and services such as the Bike Lab, Recycle Dunkirk's Bicycles, Earn a Bike and the Community Pedler.
Relay For Life Yard Sale Friday and Saturday
A Relay For Life Yard Sale will be held Friday and Saturday, sponsored by Team Lucky 777, at 10848 S. Roberts Road in Dunkirk.
There will be a variety of items including furniture, women's plus-size clothing, ladies and men's clothing, toys, bikes, baby items, kitchen items, holiday blow up decorations, lamps, and many more items. Time for this event will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Valley Historical Society meets Tuesday
The Valley Historical Society will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Museum at the corner of Main and Lester streets in Sinclairville.
Mildred Simpson of Westfield will present a program about her great-uncle Myron Turner from Jamestown, who served with the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. Titled "Remembrances," it is a short history of his days during the Civil War written after he returned home.

A summer get-together will be held at the Dunkirk Point Gratiot large pavilion on July 17 at 2 p.m. All Ver-izon/Nynex past and present employees are encouraged to visit with long-time friends and colleagues.
Guests are requested to bring their own drinks and a dish to pass. A lawn chair is optional. Dinnerware will be provided. A $3 donation will cover expenses.
