New college president to speak at church Sunday

June 2, 2012
The OBSERVER

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua announces that Dr. Virginia Horvath will join the Rev. Theresa Kime as speaker for Sunday's services.

This past January, Horvath, along with her husband, traveled to Haiti as part of a Soles4Souls service project. Soles4Souls is a nonprofit that collects used shoes to distribute around the world to people without shoes. The congregation will learn about Soles4Souls and the Horvath's experience, as well as consider how service projects can transform and connect. All are invited to attend this service.

During the service Religious Exploration classes for children in grades K-4 will be held. Childcare for those less than 5 years of age will also be provided.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua is a liberal religious community devoted to promoting individual spiritual development, working toward peace, liberty and justice in the immediate and global communities, and providing companionship on life's sacred journey. Worship services are held each Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Grange Hall, 58 W. Main St., Fredonia. Call 679-7944, visit www.uucnc.org or www.facebook.com/uucnc for more information.
