Fredonia native earns Ph.D.

Suzanne M. Cope, formerly of Fredonia, received her Ph.D. in educational studies: adult learning, at a ceremony held in May at Lesley University, Boston (Cambridge), Mass.

Dr. Cope successfully defended her dissertation, "Teaching Creative Non-Fiction: Influences, Pedagogy, and Attitudes of Teachers of Adults," in March 2012.

Cope is a graduate of Fredonia High School, class of 1995, and she received her B.A. from SUNY Geneseo, and her MFA from Lesley University.

Cope is the daughter of Linda and Allan Liedke of Fredonia and Edward and JoAnne Cope of Dunkirk. She is married to Stephen Mayone of Boston.

Cope is an assistant professor in the liberal arts department of Berklee College of Music in Boston.
