The Rainbow Inn of Dunkirk is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner to benefit the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council.
The dinner is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the Rainbow Inn, 182 E. Second St. Cost of dinner is $6.50 per person.
Basket raffles and live music will be provided. Come and join the fun and help support our veterans. For additional information call 366-7170.
Portland roads closed
Thayer Road from Woleben Road to Colt Road will be closed to traffic Wednesday for road repairs.
Cemetery Avenue between Webster Road and Ellicott Road will be closed to traffic Wednesday for road repairs.
Church Street from Route 20 to Webster Road will also be closed to traffic Thursday for road repairs.
Highland Avenue from the Brocton Village Line to Webster Road will be closed to traffic Thursday for road repairs.
South Dayton Community meeting June 7
South Dayton Community Organization will be meeting on June 7 at 7 p.m. This meeting will be held at the South Dayton Village Library.
Meetings are open to the public and last about an hour.

PVCS plans UPK Roundup Thursday
The Pine Valley Central School will host a Universal Pre-Kindergarten Roundup for children who will enter UPK in the fall of 2012 on June 7.
Notices have been sent to the parents and children. If you have a child who will be four years of age on or before Dec. 1, 2012, and have not received notification, contact Mrs. Nichols at the Elementary Office at 988-3291 ext. 3306.
Yummy's to hold fundraiser Thursday
Yummy's Ice Cream on the boardwalk in Dunkirk will sponsor a fundraiser on June 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. to support the work of the Lakeshore Humane Society. Bring your dog to the boardwalk and get a doggie treat at Yummy's Ice Cream.
