SILVER CREEK - The 10th annual Silver Creek Children's Fair will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Silver Creek Village Square and Park.
This event will be held rain or shine and will include many exciting activities.
Activities include a safety zone with the Silver Creek Fire Department and Emergency Squad, carriage rides in the park from noon to 3 p.m. and the Just Pets' Petting Zoo where kids can learn about reptiles and small animals. There will also be many food and craft vendors, including Brownies Ice Cream.
The Fair will also feature a Bouncing Bonanza with wrecking ball, cannonball blaster, UFO combo bounce houses and a monster truck bouncer and pony hop derby for toddlers. Kids can bounce all day for $6.
Entertainment Alley is a must see with many local groups performing.
Beginning at 10 a.m. the Silver Creek School chorus and Sunshine Singers will perform, followed by the elementary school band at 10:30 a.m. and Danza Performing Arts Academy at 11 a.m.
A hoola-hoop demonstration with Denise Cervola at noon and a fitness and nutrition demonstration with Nate Steiger at 12:30 p.m.
The Little Dragons of Matteson Kempo Karate will show off their karate skills at 1 p.m. followed by the new event, Silver Creek has Talent. This event will showcase a wide variety of local children's talent. Registration for the event is still open until the day of the fair. To register call Matt Bogosian at 672-9181.
At 3 p.m. there will be a side-walk chalk contest where every participant is a winner and at 3:30 p.m. the winners of the raffles will be announced.
The children's fair is proudly sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Silver Creek and coordinated by members Matt and Karen Bogosian.
The Kiwanis Club of Silver Creek supports children in the communities of Silver Creek, Forestville, Sheridan, Irving and the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation. Its work is completely funded through fundraisers and community donations. many other annual events are sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Silver Creek along with the Silver Creek Children's Fair, including Toys for Kids, high school scholarships, Kiwanis Kabinets, an Easter egg hunt, the Halloween parade, little league, the Key Club and Builders Club, Kiwanis Court and a charity golf tournament.
