The Rev. Patrick H. Elis, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Cassadaga, is leading a new flock this spring as he has taken four Toulouse goslings under his wing. A belated Christmas gift from Ginny Penhollow of Sinclairville, Father Elis regards Patrick, George, Maggie and Sara as his goodwill ambassadors to all who appreciate nature.

A Senior Citizen Recognition Day was recently held by the Fredonia-Pomfret Office for the Aging, Recreation Department with 65 persons attending the social hour. The Senior Citizen of the Year award for the Pomfret Township was presented to Santo Tampio of Fredonia for his work and contributions to past and present senior programs.

James J. Walas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walas, 85 Lincoln Ave., Dunkirk is the Student of the Week. He is completing his second year in the machine trades program at the Board of Cooperative Educational Services Center.

The Rev. Richard VanderWeel, SSE, was recently ordained to the priesthood at St. Francis DeSales Church in Bennington, Vt. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard VanderWeel, East Green Street, Dunkirk.
