Cassidy takes third,?Reyda fourth at state meet

CICERO - Dylan Cassidy's high school track and field career came to a close on a high note Friday at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association track and field championships.

The senior took third place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of :55.77.

Cleveland Hill's Daryl Spencer placed first with a time of :54.48 while Maria Mayen of Center Moriches took second at :55.57.

"It was a good ending to his high school career," Fredonia coach Bob Ball said. "The competitive side of him and his coaches would have liked to see him win. He was seeded fifth and ended up third."

Cassidy will be attending St. John Fisher in the fall where he will continue his track and field career.

"I'm looking forward to seeing him and pleased to see him go on and continue running track," Ball concluded.

Meanwhile, teammate Lauren Reyda placed fourth in Division 2 and 13th overall in the 3,000. Today, she will compete in the 1,500.
