Wreck & Roll features firefighting

June 9, 2012
A Firemen’s hose races, along with live music, were part of Friday’s events at the Wreck & Roll Festival at the city of Dunkirk pier. The festival continues today at 2 p.m. with The Anything That Floats Race, which will provide fans with plenty of different looking ‘floaters’ and crews manning them. A free kid zone, a chicken-wing cookoff and an appearance by Buffalo Bills Fred Jackson and Brian Moorman from 5 to 7 p.m., along with plenty of music and refreshments, will be featured. Live music is set to begin at 2 p.m. and run until 10:15 p.m. - with breaks - as three bands are scheduled. Leading off from 2 to 4:30 p.m. is The Beggar’s Best, a power trio from Buffalo. From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Recess, proclaimed as the youngest rock and roll band in the country, will rock the pier. Following the youngsters on stage will be the headliner, Wanted, a Bon Jovi tribute band. Wanted is dedicated to performing the music of Bon Jovi the way it was meant to be played and in a manner that delivers a true “Bon Jovi Experience.”
