Dunkirk man accused of rape, stabbing

A Dunkirk man is facing rape charges following an incident early Tuesday morning.

According to the Dunkirk Police Department, around 3:40 a.m. police responded to a residence for a report of an assault victim. Upon arrival, officers found a female victim who had suffered two stab wounds to her arm and was also a victim of sexual assault.

The victim was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police located William Green, 48, of S. Beaver Street and charged him with first-degree rape, class B felony, and second-degree assault, a class D felony.

He was sent to the city Holding Center before arraignment.
