Lucky Lanes 14, Firefighters 4 - For Lucky Lanes, Owen Schrantz had three hits while Felix Garcia, Jared Glowniak, Elwin Gomez and Jon Tirado all had two hits in the win.

On June 10, the First Ward?Falcon Club held its annual 9-hole couples golf tournament, at Shorewood Country Club. Pictured from left to right are Tom?Kawski, tournament chairman, Doug and Sue Grace, club champions, Tom Gregoreski and Bob Bankoski, tournament chairmen.

For Firefighters, Issiah Velez and Jaziah Rivera each hit safely.

Lucky Lanes 14, Kosciuszko 4 - For Lucky Lanes, Elwin Gomez led the way with a pair of hits while Tyler White, Owen Schrantz, Felix Garcia, Justin Santiago and Daniel Muldowney all hit safely.

For the Dog House, Jamie Pagan had two hits in a losing effort.

Hathaway Division

Tradition Agency vs Premier Realty - For Tradition Agency, Jacob Sullivan and Owen Rush played outstanding defense. The hitting stars were Eva Storm and Trevor Persch.

Tradition Agency vs Fredonia PBA - For Tradition Agency, the hot gloves on defense belonged to Daisia Draggett and Xavier Case. Alex Paluch and Ayden Mazany provided run support with their equally hot bats.

For Fredonia PBA, defensive gems were turned in by Sam Kawski and Cole Wisnieswki. The offensive stars were Emerson Bramer and Ryan Mendez.

Dunkirk Little League

Lake Shore Savings 4, Kosciuszko Club 3 - Lake Shore Savings' Summer Clarke led the offense going 3 for 3 at the plate while Gillian Reed and Ashley Gotowka also recorded two singles apiece.

The Dog House offense was led by Lynn-Marie Contreras and Rachel Glowniak, who each recorded three hits. Christina White also contributed to the offensive charge. Amanda Lombardo and Jailene Jimenez were the defense standouts in the loss.

Kosciuszko Club 9, Local 912 0 - The Dog House played a tough offensive game as Gina Salerno and Adina William-Cinquemani each went 3 for 3 at the plate. Maya Rosblock also contributed to the offense with a pair of singles.

Hitting safely for Local 912 were Emily Pacheco and Alany Rivera, each recording two singles. The defensive standout in the game was Neveah Carter.

DHS Sports Awards

The Dunkirk High School Sports Awards will be held Monday, June 18, at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium. All spring athletes, parents and interested community members are invited to attend.

Spring award winners will be announced as well as yearly Memorial Award winners.

Light refreshments will follow.

FHS Girls'

Basketball Camp

Fredonia will host a girls basketball camp June 25-28, in the high school and middle school gymnasiums for girls entering grades 3-12. Each participant is expected to arrive at camp between 8:30-8:55 a.m., with the camp beginning promptly at 9 and running til 3:30 p.m.

Campers will work on learning the skills that will make them better basketball players. They will also take part in daily games and competitions.

The cost is $95 per camper and all participants are expected to bring their own lunches. Cold beverages will be for sale at lunch and at the end of each day. All participants should arrange to be picked up 3:30. All parents are welcome to attend the awards ceremony, which will be held Thursday, June 28, at 3 p.m.

Fredonia Boys' Basketball Camp

The Fredonia Central School Boys' Basketball Camp will be held Monday, July 23 through Thursday, July 26 at the Fredonia High School and Middle School gymnasiums from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost for the Camp is $90. Applicants who sign up by June 22 will receive a $10 discount. The camp is open to boys entering grades 3 through 12. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt.

Each athlete is expected to arrive between 8:30 and 9 a.m. The camp will start promptly at 9:30 a.m. Athletes are expected to bring their own lunch.

Bicycle Tour to Benefit American Red Cross

The Southwestern N.Y. Chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding its annual "Ride for the Red" fundraiser on Saturday, June 16. The race will begin at 9 a.m., at the entrance to the Steele Hall Ice Arena on the SUNY Fredonia campus.

Riders will be able to take part in 10-, 25- and 50-mile races, which will have food and water stations set up along the way. The routes will travel along Routes 5 and 20, through the Dunkirk, Fredonia, Brocton and Westfield areas.
