TONAWANDA - NOCO Energy Corp. today announced a $1,000 donation to the ongoing efforts of the Cherry Creek Community Association and Cherry Creek Fire Department to construct a new playground at the Main Street Ball Field Complex in Cherry Creek. The old equipment had to be removed for not meeting the safety codes of public playgrounds and for the past several months a fundraising campaign for new equipment has been underway.
"As a locally owned and operated third-generation family company, we understand the importance of giving back to our local communities," Bob Stewart, bulk plant manager, NOCO Energy Corp, said. "We applaud the efforts of the Cherry Creek Community Association and Cherry Creek Fire Department to build a new playground and create a lasting legacy for Cherry Creek children and their families for generations to come."
"Being aware of the benefits of physical activity in children, we felt it was the responsibility of the residents and local businesses to provide a new playground for the Cherry Creek community," Nancy Hall, president, Cherry Creek Community Association said. "Thanks to the generous support of NOCO and other local businesses and community members, we continue to edge closer to our target goal of $42,000."
Installation of the new playground is expected to begin this summer.
