The Dunkirk Free Library is holding a Read In Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Summer is coming and the Library is ready with lots of family fun.
It will hold signups for its annual summer reading program. This year's theme is Dream Big - Read! The Dunkirk Fire Department will have a fire truck for children to visit. Commun-ity volunteers, like Mayor A.J. Dolce, will read to kids in the children's room, there will be patriotic crafts, balloons, and children's room raffle basket. The Public Computer Center will do trivia all day and host an e-reader petting zoo. Come check out the library's Kindle' and Nooks or feel free to bring your own.
The Friends of the Library will hold a book sale in the Library meeting room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop in and pick up some great summer reads. Hardcover and paper back books are available for adults as well as lots of children's titles. Ask the Friends about joining the group and getting involved with all their activities.
The library will hold the drawing for the winners of the Why I Love Dunkirk contest at 1 p.m. Tell us why you love Dunkirk in a note, an email, on the website, or in pictures and you will be eligible for the drawing. The prizes are three $10 gift certificates donated by Pizza Village, a $25 gift card donated by Walmart, and a Kindle Touch donated by the Dunkirk Free Library Board of Directors.
