Forestville is doing something about its water problem. But the village's solution does not fix the problem.
Last week, at a special meeting, the Village Board terminated its agreement with Tolman Engineering due to general dissatisfaction with the water work being done. While that decision may make the board and its mayor feel like they did something, it does not fix a major concern in the village.
That is the old water pipes and the discolored, muddy water, which a number of residents have complained about in recent years.
It is one step forward, two steps back.
But with the village out of this agreement, maybe they can talk to Chadwick Bay about the regional water district. This way, the village would have more than two employees who could handle water issues if problems in the village were to arise like they have in the past.
