.....Megan M. Ferguson of Forestville has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at the State University of New York College at Cortland. Ferguson is a double major in geology and economics. She graduated from Forestville Central School.....

.....Vanessa Gilette of Fredonia, daughter of Marlene Zacharias and Charles Gilette, received an outstanding GPA award at the annual awards banquet for the College at Brockport at Deerfield Country Club in Brockport. Gilette is in the athletic training program at the college and was also on the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester.....

.....Rosalee Owen of Dunkirk recently returned from Dallas, Texas where she attended the graduation of her grandson, Brandon Owen, from Northwest High School. He is the son of Stephen Owen and grandson of the late Donald Owen. He will be attending college to pursue a degree in Architecture.....

.....Aaron Zurawski, son of Allan and Susan Zurawski of Dunkirk, has been named to the dean's list for the fourth quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. He is a fourth year student studying game design and development.....

....Esther Deszcz of Dunkirk celebrated her 90th birthday on June 16 at a family party held at the American Legion Post 62 in Dunkirk. It was hosted by her son and daughter. Several local and out-of-town relatives and friends attended. A good time was had by all..........Daemen College in Amherst has announced that Leah Woodard of Cassadaga has made the Dean's List for the spring semester. Woodard is a physical therapy major. She also recently acquired her bachelor of science degree at Daemen and plans to continue her studies in pursuit of a doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT). She is the daughter of Winston and Lori Woodard of Cassadaga and she is a 2008 graduate of Dunkirk High School.....
