Grace J. Testa

Grace J. Testa, 85, of Dunkirk died Saturday morning (June 23, 2012) at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk. She was born Sept. 12, 1926 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Lucille F. (Allenza) Gilebarto. A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Grace graduated from Dunkirk High School,

Class of 1945. After graduation she worked at Spitz Toy Store and Valone Cleaners, both in Dunkirk, till she wed her late husband Frank J. Testa on June

28, 1947 in Holy Trinity Church. A parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, Mrs. Testa was a loving wife and mother who took great pride in her home, inside and out. A true homemaker, Grace especially loved family gatherings. She enjoyed card parties, baking, dancing, and gardening. Survivors include

three sons, Frank (Suzon) Testa Jr. of Forestville, Paul Testa of Dunkirk, and Peter F. Testa of Fredonia; one brother, James (Sandy) Gilebarto of Jamestown;

three sisters, Helen Kuzara of Dunkirk, Dorothy (Nancy Roesler) Gilebarto of Dunkirk, and Judith (Thomas) Green of Amherst; six grandchildren; seven great

grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Testa who died Dec. 13,

1995; one son, Michael Testa on April 5, 2000; one brother, David Gilebarto; and one sister, Rosemarie Mekus. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:15 from the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o'clock in Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
