Three injured in Kiantone stabbing

KIANTONE On Sunday, three stabbing victims were sent to area hospitals after a fight occurred at a party.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a large party and fight at 447 Hall Road, Kiantone on Sunday around 1:25 a.m. Two victims were stabbed at the scene, and transported to WCA Hospital by private vehicle prior to officer's arrival. One victim was stabbed in the abdomen, and was treated at WCA Hospital. The second stabbing victim was stabbed in the back and was flown by Mercy Flight from WCA to ECMC. A third person was located at the party, who had been assaulted and suffered a neck injury. The third victim was taken by Kiantone Fire Department to WCA, then flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, by Starflight.

Lakewood-Busti Police Department, Ellicott Police Department, Carroll Police Department, New York State Police, and Frewsburg Fire Department also assisted at the scene. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 753-2131.

Arrests made in previous Kiantone fight

KIANTONE Sheriff's Deputies investigated an assault that occurred on June 16 at around 2 a.m., at large party outside of 2020 Riverside Road in the Town of Kiantone.

Three subjects were punched and kicked causing two of them to receive medical treatment at WCA Hospital for facial and head injuries. One of those victims was transferred to ECMC by Starflight Helicopter due to the seriousness of his condition. The third victim received facial injuries not requiring medical attention.

Following an investigation, deputies filed for a warrant for Cortland B. Haines, 18, of Jamestown. Deputies made contact with Haines who surrendered to them at Kiantone Town Court on June 22, and was subsequently arraigned on three counts of third-degree assault. The court released him, and he will be back in Kiantone Court at a later date.
