Silver Creek fireworks to be held Tuesday
The annual fireworks display will be held in George Borrello Park, Jackson Street in Silver Creek, on Tuesday, July 3 with a rain date of July 5.
Laona Playground now open
The Fredonia-Pomfret Recreation Department would like to announce the opening of the Laona playground. A growing interest in the community has allow for the opening of the park to residents of the Town of Pomfret and Village of Fredonia.
From July 2 to July 20, the park will be open between the hours of 1 p.m and 5 p.m.
Children that are dropped off will be under the supervision of Fredonia-Pomfret playground recreation attendants. Crafts and games will be provided.
Collins Liberty Fest to be held Saturday
The second annual Liberty Fest will be held Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. at the town park.
From noon to 9 p.m. a concession stand will be provided by the town of Collins Recreation Program.
A bounce house and carnival style games will be available until 7 p.m.
A classic and antique car show will start at 4 p.m. at the L.K. Painter Center and last until 6 p.m.
A mini ducky derby will take place from noon to 3 p.m.
The Collins Recreation softball team will take on Springville at 1 p.m. at the new baseball field.
A father-son sand castle competition will take place at the town park volleyball court at 2 p.m.
A Miss Liberty Pageant will take place at 3 p.m. on the main stage and a horse shoe tournament will take place from 3 to 6 p.m.
Fireworks will be held at 9:45 p.m. with a bonfire in the park at 10 p.m.
A sleepover will begin at 10 p.m. in the old baseball field for town residents.
Other activities include a magic show at 3 p.m., a chicken barbecue at 2 p.m., a silent auction, face painting and horse drawn wagon rides courtesy of Collins Draft Horse, Ox and Pony Club from 12 to 3 p.m.
