Editor, OBSERVER:
The OBSERVER recently published an article (June 21) about developing Sunset Bay. The developer apparently wants to put up a 70-room hotel with restaurants and a water park.
I think that is a wonderful idea as our area needs much growth and could benefit from many businesses that already exist here. I write, however, to make a correction to the article about a statement in the article that upset me and I'm sure others.
The article stated that there are no hotels, motels or places for people to be accommodated traveling to and from Sunset Bay. That is not true.
For more than 24 years, I have owned the Lighthouse Inn on Routes 5 and 20, and we have accommodated many people over the years traveling to and from the town of Hanover, Sunset Bay and other parts of the county.
I would hope that you would print this letter as a correction to any misstatement in the article that would mislead people to think that we are no longer in business running our motel. We welcome other businesses to the area as it can only benefit all of us, and we are happy to continue to serve the traveling public at the Lighthouse Inn.

CVCS graduates show respect
Editor, OBSERVER:
I just want to say that I was in tears when I read the Cassadaga Valley graduation article with the students being asked to stand and give their parents an applause for all they have done! That is showing respect of the utmost.
I have always liked your school - and your gifts to the school sound great!
Have a great future class of 2012.
