SILVER CREEK - The following fifth-grade students recently graduated from the Silver Creek Central School D.A.R.E. Program, which was instructed by Officer Rob Lazarczyk of the Village of Silver Creek Police Department. Students completed the elementary component of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program. Upon completion of the program, students were presented certificates, t-shirts and tickets to Darien Lake Theme Park.

In addition to being awarded for completing the D.A.R.E. program, one student from each classroom received special recognition as the D.A.R.E. Essay Award Winner. The Essay Award winners are as follows: Breanna Nelson of Ms. Restivo's Class, Sabrina Schenk of Mrs. Corsaro's Class, Emma Rice of Mrs. Harford's Class, and Jenna Miller of Mrs. Cook's Class. The D.A.R.E. Essay Award winners were given an additional certificate, as well as a D.A.R.E. Essay Award Winner pin, and a gift card to Wal-Mart.
