Twenty years ago - 1992

Plans are being made for the 125th anniversary celebration of the Fredonia Grange No. 1, to be held July 11-18 according to Master Thomas Hebeisen. Museum items will be on display and anniversary items will also be available for purchase.

Thirty years ago - 1982

Members of the Buffalo Philharmonic performed a two-hour concert in Dunkirk Memorial Park yesterday as part of the city's Harborfest Weekend. Mixing patriotic songs with popular hits, the orchestra capped off the evening with an invitation for the large crowd to join in the singing of "God Bless America." Other events during the day included a chicken barbecue, foot races and fireworks.

Forty years ago - 1972

The Rev. Evans Mitchell is leaving Silver Creek to accept a call as pastor of the Cuba Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Mitchell has been working as assistant pastor of the Silver Creek Wesleyan Church under the Rev. David Shannon.

Fifty years ago - 1962

William Custer, a newly-licensed attorney from Fredonia, has opened a law office for the practice of law at 214 Russo Building, Fredonia.
