The 'Fire up your Summer!' This July the Community Blood Bank is giving away five Amazon Kindle Fires plus $100 Amazon Gift Card to five lucky people just for giving blood. This is the hottest electronic item this summer; it's an e-reader and computer tablet with color touch screen display.
The blood bank has avoided a blood shortage so far this summer but supplies are falling. The CBB hopes these Kindles will light a fire and get some extra donors in this month, a very tough month to recruit donors.
The Community Blood Bank of Western New York is holding a community blood drive at the Gowanda Fire Department located at 230 Aldrich St. Ext. today from 2 to 6 p.m.
Another blood drive will be held Monday at the harvest Chapel Methodist Church, on Matteson Street in Fredonia, from 1 to 6 p.m.
The blood drives are open to anyone who would like to donate. Photo I.D. required.
The Community Blood Bank is the exclusive supplier of blood products to all of the hospitals in Chautauqua County.
