The CIAO Board of Directors met on July 3 to finalize plans for the annual meeting and picnic. The annual meeting will be held on July 28 at Russell Joy Park upper pavilion. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass and their table setting, beverage other than coffee, tea or soda and any games they would like to play. The cost of the dinner is $5 for paid members and $8 for guests. Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m. preceded by a bocce tournament at 12:30. Anyone interested in participating in the tournament must register by 12:30. Prizes will be awarded to the first place team.

Board members will be contacting members by phone for confirmation and also members will be receiving a reminder post card. LaParola will be available to members at the picnic. Reservations must be made by July 17.
Dues will be collected at registration table, cost $10 individual, $15 couple and $20 family. Membership will run from July 2012 until July 2013. Anyone who has already paid dues will be in good standing until July 2013.
In other news, plans are still in the works for an agreement with a sister city of Colle di Val D'Elsa and Fredonia and Dunkirk. Chiara DeSanti reported from Italy that she has met with representatives from her city and has sent information to the mayors of Fredonia and Dunkirk. More information will follow.
Anyone interested in car pooling for the Italian Festival is asked to be at Mt. Carmel Church Parking lot in Silver Creek by 1 p.m. on Friday, July 13. If transportation is needed, call Rose Ann Carlson at 366-7634, Crisanti or DeJohn.
