Town of Portland Planning Board to meet

The Town of Portland Planning Board will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 10, at 7:30 p.m., at the Town Hall, 87 W. Main St., Brocton.

Brocton water flushing set

Village of Brocton Streets Department Head Tom Allen reminds residents in the village that they will experience turbidity in their water on Wednesday July 11.

Villagewide hydrant flushing will be taking place, expected to begin at 7:30 a.m. until finished.

"I thank all of our water customers in advance for their patience while experiencing turbid water during the flushing of hydrants," added Allen.

County Planning Board meeting set

The next meeting of the Chautauqua County Planning Board has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 10 at 4 p.m. at the Gerace Office Building, Room 331, 7N Erie Street, Mayville.

Safe boating class July 15

The last one-day Safe Boating Class for the month of July will be offered on Sunday, July 15, at 9:30 am. Class will be held at Chautauqua Marina, 104 West Lake Road, Mayville. To register for class email boatsafety@aol.com or call Chautauqua Marina at (716)753-3913 or (716)753-0409.

Class is for adults and children ages 10 and up. Course Fee $39 -materials $5. Course is an eight-hour long class. This class meets all the requirements for the New York State Safe Boating Program. Personal Watercraft (jet-ski) operators ages 14 years of age and up (including adults) are required to hold a safe boating certificate when operating a jet-ski in New York state.
