Sunset Bay Fire Auxiliary Chicken BBQ Sunday afternoon

The Sunset Bay Fire Auxiliary will hold its annual Chicken BBQ on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. or sold out.

Tickets are $8.50 and are available from members or at the door. Eat in, pick up or drive-through service at the Fire Hall on Alleghany Road in Sunset Bay.

Proceeds to benefit the Sunset Bay Fire Company.

Ahira Hall Memorial Library Concert in Park series starts Thursday

The Ahira Hall Memorial Library in Brocton begins its 2012 Concert in the Park series at 7 p.m. in the Ryckman Park on Thursday with Pat Cook's Tribute to Patsy Cline.

Other performers include Dos on July 19, the New Horizon's Band on July 26, Wind River on Aug. 2 and the Cassadaga Area Concert Band on Aug. 9.

Neighborhood Watch meeting Thursday in Gowanda village hall

The Gowanda Neighborhood Watch meeting will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the National Night Out on Aug. 7. The meeting will be held in the board room at village hall, 27 E. Main St., Gowanda.

Portland to flush fire hydrants Wednesday

The Town of Portland will flush fire hydrants Wednesday for all East Main Road, Brocton (Water District 3) residents. Customers may experience turbulent water; we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Rudy Mueller to appear on Senior Report Saturday morning

Senior Report with host Reed Powers will have Rudy Mueller as the guest on Saturday's television program. Dr. Mueller is a past Chautauqua County legislator. The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturdays. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions, comments or a shout-out. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities.

Powers has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change.

Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the communities of Brocton, Cassadaga, Chau-tauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Forestville, Hanover, Irving and Silver Creek the program is on Channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Mary E. Seymour Library board meets Thursday morning

The Mary E. Seymour Library Board of Trustees will meet Thursday at 10 a.m. at the library in Stockton.
