Chicken n 'Rib BBQ to support Fredonia museum

This is not your usual barbecue fundraiser - it has chicken and ribs! All proceeds are used to support The Telecommunica-tion Museum of Fredonia and will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, July 20.

Presale tickets for $8.50 are available from board members and DFT Communications 38-40 Temple St. Fredonia or Star Media Group 4867 W. Lake Road, Dunkirk. Purchasing your ticket by Monday July 16 will assure that there is a dinner waiting for you. Water, pop, desserts and chances on a 50/50 raffle will also be available for a nominal charge.

For 10 years The Telecommunication Museum has had a small but important presence in the local community. It is run by a dedicated group of hardworking volunteers, who understand that the business of communications has had an important impact on the local community. It took several years of hard work to collect, organize and label all the wonderful artifacts the museum has to share. Many of the larger items were donated by DFT Communications.

Children fortunate enough to attend the Fredonia summer parks programs have the opportunity to visit the museum and become better acquainted with the phones of yesteryear. The Museum is looking forward to moving to a larger nearby facility in the near future. Watch the paper for the Grand Opening event this fall.

Don't miss this annual event. It sells out quickly so get your tickets today. It's an eat in-take out event-rain or shine. Come and eat your dinner and then take advantage of other events as part of Fredonia History Days.

The Museum is located a short distance down Center Street just off the park in downtown Fredonia.
