Twenty years ago - 1992

A "Do You Remember?" photo features Howie's News, 118 Main St., Dunkirk. Howard and Luella Ruge were the owners and operators during the late 1940s. The newsstand was closed in the early 1950s.

Thirty years ago - 1982

Eagle Scout Stephen E. Britt was honored at an awards ceremony held at the Gowanda Phoenix Masonic Lodge. Stephen, a senior at Gowanda High School, is a member of Scout Troop 151. The award was presented by his cousin, Klinton Wigren, who in 1958 was the first member of Troop 151 to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Stephen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Flavil E. Britt, Armes Court, Gowanda.

Forty years ago - 1972

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph D. Corsoro have purchased Reiter's Shore Motel on East Lake Road in the town of Dunkirk. They will be relocating to the Dunkirk area soon.

Fifty years ago - 1962

An addition has been made to Barker Common for the second straight year with the construction of the Fredonia Vacationlands booth sponsored by the Fredonia Boosters Association.
