July 12, 2012
The OBSERVER

CHAUTAUQUA - Chautauqua Institution will host two "Art in the Park" events this season featuring the work of artisans from throughout the region as well as students enrolled in the Chautauqua School of Art. The shows are scheduled for noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15, and Sunday, Aug. 5, in Miller Park near the iconic Miller Bell Tower.

Approximately 75 tables and tents will feature paintings, prints, photographs, collages, textiles, pottery, ceramics, and a wide variety of other high quality crafts and jewelry.

VACI Partners, the volunteer support group for the Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution, is sponsor of both events.

Entrance to Chautauqua Institution is free on Sundays throughout the summer. If driving to Chautauqua, there is a charge for parking. In addition to "Art in the Park," Sundays at Chautauqua feature an Amphitheater concert at 2:30 p.m., new exhibitions in two art galleries, shops to explore and many food options. Sunday, July 15, will also feature a Water Expo on Bestor Plaza and a large aquarium containing live fish drawn from Chautauqua Lake as part of Week Four programming on "Water Matters."
