Accident leaves Stockton youth with injuries and charges
STOCKTON - On Friday, a 17-year-old from Stockton was hospitalized for injuries after a vehicular accident and is facing DWI and other charges.
Around 2:15 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office deputies and Stockton Fire Department responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Barnes Road in the Town of Stockton. Deputies arrived on scene and found the operator and single occupant of the vehicle to be badly injured and trapped in his vehicle.
The operator was identified as Brenden M. Winder, 17, of Stockton. Deputies were able to gain access into the vehicle and provide aid to Winder until EMS personnel arrived. Fire department crews used the jaws of life to extricate Winder from the vehicle. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Starflight Helicopter responded and Winder was flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA.
Following the investigation of the crash, deputies report that Winder was traveling south on Barnes Road at a high rate of speed. He went off the roadway on the west shoulder and then crossed back over the roadway where he struck a tree on the east side of the road. As a result of the investigation, deputies will be filing charges in the Stockton Town Court for driving while intoxicated, speed not reasonable, fail to stay in lane, fail to keep right, and driving after 9 p.m. on a junior license.
Portland man jailed after domestic incident
PORTLAND - On Thursday evening, a Portland man was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment.
Around 6 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies and the New York State Police were called to a residence in Portland for an alleged dispute. After an investigation, Vincent J. Mardino, 32, of Mathews Road, Portland was charged with the offenses and is being held at the Chautauqua County Jail.
Olean woman charged in theft of over $50K
OLEAN - The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Bureau investigated an incident of grand larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument that happened in the city of Olean. Amy Buchanan, 36, of Olean, was arrested on two counts of third-degree grand larceny.
For the first count, it is alleged Buchanan stole approximately $36,176 from the Olean Family Health Center from December 2011 to the end of January 2012 by unlawfully using the practice's credit/debit card for her own personal use.
For the second count, it is alleged Buchanan stole $25,966 from Zia Sheikh from the end of November 2011 to the middle of March 2012 by unlawfully using his credit card for her own personal use.
It is also believed Buchanan possessed three known forged prescriptions defrauded from Rite Aid in the City of Olean from Dec. 23 2011 to Jan. 6.
Buchanan was arrested on July 11 in the City of Olean Court and released on her own recognizance on all charges. Buchanan is scheduled to be back in the City of Olean Court on July 25.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
JAMESTOWN - The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department has announced a name can be removed from the Chautauqua County wanted list as of Wednesday. Lawrence J. Gary Jr., 20, of Jamestown, was wanted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office for second-degree assault.
Lawrence J. Gary Jr. was arrested on his charges by Jamestown police Department. The warrant can be canceled.
MAYVILLE - On Wednesday, a Mayville man was charged with petit larceny.
Around 3:40 p.m. the Chautauqua County Sheriff Office was called to the Mayville Hardware Store on S. Erie Street for a larceny. After investigation it's alleged that Gordon H. Mattson, 74, of Mayville took merchandise from the store without paying. Mattson was issued an appearance ticket for petit larceny and will be appearing in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later time.
WESTFIELD - On July 7, a Westfield man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after calling police to assist with a vehicle lockout.
Around 1:30 a.m., Westfield police responded to assist with a locked vehicle, operated by Adam C. Warner, 23, of Westfield.
Upon assisting Warner with unlocking his vehicle, the Westfield patrolman allegedly observed marijuana in the center console of Warner's vehicle. Warner was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana and will appear in the Village of Westfield Court at a later date.
WESTFIELD - On July 3, a Buffalo man was jailed on felony driving while intoxicated in the village of Westfield.
Around 11:20 p.m., Westfield police stopped a vehicle operated by Dean J Nelipowitz who was allegedly found to be intoxicated. A check of his driving record revealed a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated within the past ten years. Nelipowitz was taken into custody on charges of failure to keep right, failure to maintain lane and felony driving while intoxicated.
Nelipowitz was arraigned in the village of Westfield Court and was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $2,500 cash bail, $5,000 property.
HANOVER - On Sunday, a Hamburg man was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and other charges in the Town of Hanover.
Around 2;05 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle driven by William V. Mitchell for failing to stop at a stop sign on Alleghany Road in the Town of Hanover.
Upon investigation, Mitchell was allegedly found to be intoxicated and charged with DWI, DWI per se .08 percent blood alcohol content or higher, and failure to stop at stop sign.
Mitchell was released and will appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.
CHAUTAUQUA - On July 5, an Ashville man was charged with DWI refusal and failure to keep right.
Around 2:20 a.m. Thomas J. Douglas was stopped along Route 394 in the Town of Chautauqua for failure to keep right. Douglas allegedly refused to submit to a chemical test and will appear in court at a later date.
PERRYSBURG - On July 1, Clarence D. Beaver Jr., 31, of Perrysburg, was arrested at his residence on a violation of probation warrant issued from Chautauqua County Court. He was transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail and held with no bail pending a court appearance at a later date.

Yolanda Maldonado, 33, of West Second Street was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, having no seat belt on a rear passenger between 8 and 15 years old and having an uninsured vehicle on July 10.
Samuel O. Cuyler, 23, of South Main Street was charged with second-degree harassment on July 10.
Julio A. Martinez, 31, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with second-degree criminal contempt on July 11.
Angel E. Santiago, 42, of East Chestnut Street was charged with having an unregistered vehicle on July 11.
