Two charged in jamestown heroin sales
JAMESTOWN - Two Lafayette Street men are facing charges after city police uncovered a heroin sales operation on Friday.
According to police, the city department and the New York State Police K9 unit executed a search warrant at 705 Lafayette St. after a two-month investigation revealed the residence was being used for illegal sales of heroin. Both Angel Soto, 39, and Mark J. McKay, 20, of the residence were charged with third-degree sale of a criminal controlled substance.
An investigation by officers revealed that over the last two months, both subjects were involved in heroin sales from the site numerous times at all hours of the day. Investigators also seized a quantity of cash and drug paraphernalia at the location.
Both subjects were arraigned and committed to the county jail in Mayville.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
HANOVER - Matthew D. Hughes, 31, of Irving was charged with operating an ATV on a public highway, having an unregistered ATV, having an uninsured ATV and driving while intoxicated per se with a BAC of .08 or higher on Saturday. At 1:31 a.m. deputies observed an ATV being operated on Alleghany Road in the town. Upon investigation, Hughes was taken in to custody for DWI. He was released on appearance tickets for the Town of Hanover Court.
HANOVER - Heather I. Roundpoint, 23, of Buffalo was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a red signal, driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with a BAC of .08 or higher and unlawful possession of marijuana on Saturday. At 3:03 a.m. deputies observed a vehicle fail to stop at the red signal at the intersection of Alleghany Road and Routes 5 and 20. Upon investigation, Roundpoint was taken in to custody for DWI and further investigation found Roundpoint to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. A check of Roundpoint's license showed her driving privileges in New York state had been suspended. She was released with appearance tickets for the Town of Hanover Court.
Silver Creek Village Court
Luis Alcivar, 42, of Silver Creek, pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment and was fined $225.
William J. Brennan, 39, of Silver Creek, pleaded guilty to dog at large and paid $50 in fines.
Christine L. Brown, 40, of Silver Creek, pleaded guilty to dog at large and was fined $25.
Steven P. Cardot, 20, of Cassadaga, pleaded guilty to possession of alcohol under the age of 21 and was fined $75.
Bradley M. Dimmer, 21, of Silver Creek, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and was fined $225.
Tina M. Doner, 42, of Silver Creek, pleaded guilty to dog at large and was fined $25.
A 16-year-old Silver Creek male was arraigned for possession of marijuana and returns to court on August 1.
Frederick N. Johnson, 34, of Niagara Falls, was arraigned for aggravated unlicensed operation and will return to court Sept. 5.
A 17-year-old Silver Creek male pleaded guilty to possession of alcohol under the age of 21 and was fined $50.
Sherri Myers, 49, of Silver Creek, pleaded guilty to dog at large and was fined $25.
Lee W. Seybold, 51, of Sheridan, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and was fined $225.
A 17-year-old Silver Creek male pleaded guilty to a curfew violation and paid $25 in fines.
Samantha Stepowski, 20, of Derby, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and was fined $225.
Christopher D. Thompson, 19, of Angola, was arraigned on driving while intoxicated. His case was adjourned to Sept. 5.
Wigberto Torres-Rodriguez was arraigned for driving while intoxicated and will return August 1.
State Police at Collins
On Wednesday at 4:20 p.m., troopers charged Dakota Mack, 25, of South Dayton on State Route 438 on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (1.7 grams cocaine hydrochloride), unlawful possession of marijuana (5 grams marijuana) and tampering with physical evidence.
Mack was stopped for speeding and further investigation reportedly revealed the possession of drugs. He was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Brant Court later this month.
