Joseph “JoJo” C. Russo

FORESTVILLE - Joseph "JoJo" C. Russo, 45, of Hanover Road, Forestville, passed away at his residence after a long battle with cancer, Saturday (July 14th) with his devoted wife, Cindy, by his side. He was born in Dunkirk, on August 14, 1966, the son of Rosemary (Scarlata) Russo, of Silver Creek and the late Anthony F. Russo, Sr.

Joe was a graduate of Fredonia Central School, Class of 1985 and worked as a bus driver for Carrier Coach, Inc., Gowanda. He was an active member of the Irving Volunteer Fire Department, until his illness took over. He was also a past member of the Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Squad. Joe was once very active with Silver Creek Little League, where once again his love to help was exceeded. He was an avid Yankees and NASCAR fan and enjoyed building models. Joe's teasing ways and sense of humor will be sadly missed by many friends, relatives, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also enjoyed the company of his faithful companion "Sarge."

Surviving besides his mother are his devoted wife Cynthia A. (DeJaiffe) Russo, of Forestville, whom he married February 16, 2001, in Silver Creek; by a daughter, Kristy Taft of Forestville; two sisters, Tammie Bund, of Silver Creek, Tonya Russo, of Irving; two brothers, James (JoEllen) Russo, of Silver Creek, Anthony "Tony" Russo, Jr., of Naples, FL and stepmother Jane Russo of Fredonia. Joe loved chil-dren, and his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews will always remember Uncle JoJo and his teasing ways. Besides his father, he was prede-ceased by his paternal grandparents Joseph C. & Cruciana (Latona) Russo, Sr. and maternal grandparents Charles S. and Vivian (Stephens) Scarlata.

There will be no visitation observed. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Time and place will be announced.
