Gualberto "Speedy" Gonzalez, 63, of Dunkirk, died suddenly Wednesday July 18, 2012 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie.
He was born July 4, 1949 in Yauco, Puerto Rico, son of the late Adelaido Gonzalez and the late Francisca (Laboy) Gonzalez, who just passed away July 15, 2012. Mr. Gonzalez was a retired employee of the Carriage House in Fredonia.
A member of the Columbus Club, he was an avid Billiards "Pool" player and played in many tournaments. He also enjoyed ridding his bicycle. Surviving are his former wife, Kathryn C. Gonzalez of New Jersey; his present companion, Aida Vega of Dunkirk; children Gualberto "Junior" Gonzalez Jr., Adam Gonzalez both of Dunkirk; grandchildren Abigail Marie Kathryn Gonzalez and Jayden Christopher Gonzalez, sisters Ana Ayala of New Jersey, Maria (Andy Rios) Gonzalez, Raquel Gonzalez, both of Dunkirk; brothers Jose (Pricila) Sanchez of New Jersey, Adelino (Aida) Gonzalez of Dunkirk,

he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Gonzalez. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the Iglesia Getsemani (Assambleas De Dios) Church on Friday morning from 9-10 o'clock and Christian services at 10-12 noon.
Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk.
