Fredonia Walmart top in fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network

July 19, 2012
The OBSERVER

Former Buffalo Sabres Rob Ray joined Donna Walentynowicz from the Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo at the Fredonia Walmart for a jersey presentation. The jersey will hang in the Fredonia Walmart because it was the top fundraising store in the district for the Children's Miracle Network for 2011, raising $28,082.16. All money raised for the Children's Miracle Network will go to the Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo. The great community effort during Round-Up, where customers rounded up their change at the registers for the hospital, was a great success.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for its more than 170 member hospitals. Collectively these children's hospitals treat 17 million children annually for every type of illness and injury imaginable.

Walmart and Sam's Club associates, customers and members have contributed more than $600 million to support the patients of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals since 1987. This fundraising has helped provide world-class medical care to ill and injured children as well as fund breakthroughs in pediatric medicine.
