Dunkirk Board of Education special meeting on Friday

The Dunkirk Board of Education will hold a special meeting Friday at 7 a.m. in the Large Group Instruction Room to discuss personnel matters.

This meeting is open to the public.

Pomfret to read water meters today

The Pomfret Town Clerk's office has announced that the town will be reading water meters today in Van Buren, Berry Road and Chestnut Road water districts.

to meet Wednesday

Pomfret Town Supervisor Don Steger has called for a special town board meeting Wednesday at 4 p.m. at town hall.

The board will consider the application of a temporary water line easement along Wilbur Road by A. Sam and Farm, Inc. The meeting is open to the public.

Silver Creek Village Board special meeting Wednesday afternoon

The Silver Creek Village Board will hold a special meeting Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the village hall for the purpose of meeting with the DEC about the sewer plant.

Gas prices rise

7 cents per gallon

Average retail gasoline prices in Rochester have risen 7.0 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.63/g Sunday.

This compares with the national average that has increased 4.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.49/g, according to gasoline price website RochesterGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Rochester during the past week, prices Sunday were 20.3 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 6.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 2.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 20.1 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
