Cassadaga Church to hold Ice Cream Social Friday night
The Cassadaga Commun-ity Baptist Church, located at 25 Maple Ave. in the village, will hold an ice cream social Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church.
Music will be provided by the Sprague family.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
2013 Fredonia State cheer competition date set for Jan. 27
The annual Fredonia State Cheerleading and Dance Competition will held Jan. 27, 2013. Registration information will be available in early fall 2012.

County election inspectors needed
Chautauqua County is in need of election inspectors willing to work at various polling sites on Election Day.
Six hundred poll workers will be needed for the Nov. 6 general election.
Election inspector requirements:
Hours are from 5 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
New election inspectors will be paid $25 for training that will be available in Dunkirk, Mayville and Jamestown in August.
The pay for election inspectors who complete the training is $8 per hour.

Portland workshop meeting Wednesday
The Town of Portland will hold a workshop meeting Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Town Hall. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss water district 7's restoration work.
