Howard Bremer, owner/operator of Central Paint and his daughter Jillian are pictured cutting the ribbon at their recent Grand Opening celebration. Pauline Valone, Gary Katta, Carrie Corsoro and Tom Somerfeldt were winners of the grand opening drawings. Central Paint is located at 800 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

Two young local bowlers got the chance to test their talents against the pros recently when they participated in the Pro-Am Junior Bowlers Tour. They are Robert Patterson of Silver Creek and Jeffrey Borowski of Irving.

The Silver Creek office of the Iroquois Gas Corporation, located at 35 Main St. in the village, will cease operations beginning July 31.
Fifty years ago - 1962
The Chautauqua County Automobile Club's election meeting revealed plans for a $40,000 home to be built by the club. Preliminary plans were made for the purchase of a building site. Headquarters are currently at 78 East Fourth St. in Dunkirk.
