MAYVILLE - The bluegrass band Generic Grass will be the featured musical performers for the Aug. 9 Entertainment in the Park summer concert. Held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the performance will be held in the Village Green Park, located on the corner of the Routes 430 and 394 intersection in Mayville.
Generic Grass has been entertaining audiences throughout the tri-state area for more than 20 years. The slogan, Bluegrass for All Occasions, is appropriate for the band because of the wide variety of musical styles played by the band while staying within the tradition of using all acoustic instruments. The band plays traditional bluegrass, swing, folk, classic rock and American standards music. Performances are tailored to the wishes of the audience. The band has recorded albums that have been well received by listeners. Members of the band include Carl Hultman on guitar and vocals, Barb Schwartz on banjo, guitar and vocals, Brian Carroll-Hunt on mandolin, harmonica and vocals and Dick Thomson on acoustic bass.
Rainbow the Clown (a/k/a Jerry Stimson) will be on hand to entertain the children with face painting and balloon sculptures.
