Shooting sends Wellsville man to ECMC
WELLSVILLE - New York State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon.
Troopers, Allegany County Sheriffs deputies, and Village of Wellsville police responded to a 911 report of shots fired at 3159 County Route 30. Responders discovered the victim, Robert G. Garrison, 60, had been shot twice while inside his residence. He was transported to Jones Memor-ial Hospital in Wellsville by the Wellsville Ambulance. Garrison was later taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center, and is reported to be in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Garrison was shot by a 16-year-old family member. Investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Uniformed Troopers and Allegany County District Attorney.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
WESTFIELD - On July 31, a Westfield man was charged with several driving while intoxicated (DWI) and other charges, including violation of Leandra's Law, felony DWI, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and other charges.
At 11:47 p.m., a Westfield Police Department officer was on patrol on East Main Street in Westfield. The officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed for the zone on East Main Street.
Upon stopping the vehicle, it was found to be operated by Anthony F. Price, 43, of Westfield. Upon speaking with Price, officers could smell odor of intoxicants coming from his breath. The officer also observed two young children in the rear seat of the vehicle, without proper restraining devices.
Upon further investigation, Price was allegedly found to be intoxicated and operating the motor vehicle with privileges to operate a vehicle within New York state to be suspended. Price was charged with felony DWI due to a prior DWI within the past ten years; aggravated DWI; felony DWI with child in vehicle (Leandra's Law), due to being arrested with children under 15 years of age in the vehicle; felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operator; two counts of endangering the welfare of a child; unlicensed operator; speed in zone and two tickets for child not in proper re-straint device, a total of three felonies, two misdemeanors and four traffic citations.
Price was arraigned in Village of Westfield Court and bail was set at $10,000 cash and $20,000 property. Price will appear in Westfield Court at a later date.
KIANTONE - On July 30, a Jamestown man was charged with harassment after multiple incidents.
Around 10:30 p.m. on June 1, Chautauqua County Sheriff's patrol took a complaint from a resident on Riverside Road in Kiantone. The resident was harassed by an unknown male subject who arrived at the residence. The same unknown subject again harassed the complainant on July 27.
On July 30, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a Kiantone Road address. The operator of the vehicle was identified as John W. Genberg, 52, of Jamestown.
Following an investigation, it was determined that Genberg was the individual who allegedly harassed the Riverside Road resident and he was charged with second-degree harassment. He was issued an appearance ticket.
MAYVILLE - On Saturday, two Mayville men and one Lakewood man were charged after an alleged fight.
At 1 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and Chautauqua Institution Police Department responded to Water Street for a reported fight. The initial investigation showed that Rey Vega, 28, of Lakewood, allegedly got into an argument with another individual, punching that person in the face. Vega was issued an appearance ticket for second-degree harassment and will appear in Chautauqua Court.
While taking the initial complaint, a second fight started at the Lakeview Hotel. As a result, Thomas Gustafson, 50, of Mayville, was charged with disorderly conduct and released on an appearance ticket, also to appear in Chautauqua Court. Darrin Textor, 33, of Mayville, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and criminal tampering.
Textor was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua Coun-ty Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
ALLEGANY - On Aug. 3, a 40-year-old man was arraigned on a charge of third-degree rape after alleg-edly having sex with a 16-year-old in Allegany in 2010.
An investigation performed by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office found the defendant, Timothy R. Retchless, 40, had sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old female. The sexual contact allegedly took place in a vehicle parked in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany in April 2010.
Justice Porter of the Alle-gany Town Court released the defendant on his own recognizance, but the recommendation of the District Attorney's Office, to appear in court at a later date.

Steven P. Beebe, 28, of Beebe Road, Irving, pleaded guilty to aggravated unlicensed operation and was fined $455.
Derek J. Carlson, 21, of Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to facilitating aggravated unlicensed operation and was fined $285.
Justin G. Collins, 31, of Forestville, pleaded guilty to aggravated unlicensed operation and was fined $335.
Sandra D. Cooper, 34, of Central Avenue, Silver Creek, was arraigned for driving while intoxicated. She was released on her own recognizance and returns to court Sept. 5.
A 16-year-old Silver Creek boy received a six-month adjournment in contemplation of dismissal on a charged of possession of marijuana.
Zacre T. Jasinski, 20, of Dunkirk, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $375. A charge of second-degree burglary was dismissed.
Amanda R. Jose, 29, of Alabama, had her case of second-degree assault dismissed.
Stephanie Lachowski, 29, of Angola had charges of resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct dismissed in the interest of justice.
A 16-year-old Sheridan boy received a six-month adjournment in contemplation of dismissal for a charge of possession of marijuana.
Sara A. Ramsdell, 27, of Monroe Street, Silver Creek, was arraigned for giving a false written statement. She was released on her own recognizance and returns to court Sept. 5.
Leeha Robertson, 50, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $150 plus seven days time served in Chautauqua County Jail. A charge of false personation was dismissed.
David J. Sekuterski, 31, of Forestville, pleaded guilty to aggravated unlicensed op-eration and was fined $585.
Jeffrey Wagner, 41, of Robinson Street, Silver Creek, was arraigned for un-lawfully dealing with a child. He returns to court Sept. 5.
Barbara E. West, 45, of Robinson Street, Silver Creek, was arraigned for unlawfully dealing with a child and returns to court Sept. 5.
