Dunkirk man charged with possession of narcotics

A Dunkirk man has been charged on an arrest warrant following an earlier incident.

Conrad K. Thomas, 27, of Lincoln Avenue was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony and second-degree obstructing governmental administration, and a class A misdemeanor. Thomas was arrested by Dunkirk Police at 9:45 p.m. on Thursday on a warrant signed by City Court Judge Walter Drag.

The charges stem from an earlier incident with Thomas was found to be in possession of a large quantity of cocaine and then fled on foot from officers.

State Police

BEMUS POINT - On Saturday, Michael Bartok, 38, of Bemus Point was charged with third-degree assault in connection with a domestic disturbance.

Bartok, while reportedly in an intoxicated condition, struck the victim several times, causing facial injuries. He fled the scene before the trooper arrived, but was located on Driftwood Road.

Bartok was processed at state police barracks in Jamestown, arraigned in the Town of Ellery Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for the Town of Ellery Court on a later date to answer the charge.

On Monday, Matthew Buck, 20, of Jamestown was detained by the Jamestown Police Department. Police discovered that he had outstanding arrest warrants of second-degree assault (felony) and third-degree assault stemming from an assault in Cherry Creek in April. Allegedly Buck used a baseball bat to cause injury to both a female subject and a male subject.

Jamestown Police turned Buck over to the state police. He was processed at state police headquarters in Jamestown. He was arraigned in Jamestown and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

ELLICOTT - On Wednesday, Raymond Hamilton, 27, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Hamilton was pulled over on West Oak Hill Road for excessive window tint. Reportedly, an officer located a pill jar containing three grams of marijuana inside the vehicle.

Hamilton was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date.
