HANOVER - Inter-ested collectors will have until the end of September now to obtain any of the three Hanover 200th commemorative post office cancellations. Just go to the Silver Creek, Forest-ville, or Irving post offices with items prepared for canceling.
The Silver Creek cancel features the Great Black Walnut Tree of Silver Creek. The Forestville cancel features Walnut Falls. And the Irving cancel features the sturgeon fishing industry of Lake Erie.
The cancels may be placed on post cards, envelopes, in books, or on any paper item. The Hanover 200th program may still be obtained at the Hanover Town Hall near the side and front entrances. The back page has three blank spaces on which the cancels may be placed to create a special souvenir of the 200th.
