It need not be a quick decision, but it does not need to take a long time either.
To its credit, the Stockton Town Board has decided to consider the Cassadaga Library as surplus property and put it up for bid. So far, two bids have come in around the $10,000 range. Because the town attorney was not present, the board decided to delay a decision until later this month.
On Aug. 28 at 7 p.m., that is when the board will decide the fate of the building. Those interested can attend on that day - or voice their opinion to a trustee before the vote.
The process has been fair - and is being done responsibly.
