The M&T Charitable Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation to be used toward the purchase of upgrading technology hardware for the hospital, WMH Foundation Development Director Patricia DiPalma has announced.
The upgrade consists of 48 DELL OptiPlex 790 'All in One' Workstations with 19-inch monitors.
"This hardware is necessary as we implement a new McKesson order entry/documentation system. This system is to be used to insure that WMH continues to provide a hospital where the quality of patient information is higher and costs are lower for the tens of thousands of individuals who utilize the hospital each year," Patient Data Manager Cindy Harper said. "To avoid errors in transferring data from one department to another, or from one nurse/doctor to another, the on-line equipment will be available to all departments at the same time in "real time."

As the major fund raiser for Westfield Memorial Hospital, the Foundation has been purchasing state-of-the-art equipment for more than 35 years as a non-profit entity. Currently, it is seeking a $46,500 contribution to add to the M&T grant.
