Comment time nears end

August 21, 2012
The OBSERVER

Chamber of Commerce President Todd Tranum made an excellent point all area residents must heed regarding the NRG Energy Inc. proposed project.

In the chamber corner last week, Tranum called on residents to make their comments known regarding the proposed $700 million development at the Dunkirk facility that would convert it from coal-fired to natural gas. "With the deadline approaching in just a few weeks, the chamber is urging all of its members to submit a brief comment, describing why you support the plans for the NRG Dunkirk conversion," he wrote. "It's fairly straight-forward: this plan can save jobs and tax revenue in our county."

To voice your comment, visit www.PowerUpWNY.org or www.nyenergyhighway.com/contact, which is the Energy Highway Task Force. The deadline for all comments is Aug. 31, which is 10 days away.

Your action - to benefit a community partner - is essential.
