Fredonia woman charged in abandoning cats

According to New York State Police at Fredonia, Rebecca Kramer, 22, was charged Wednesday with second-degree criminal trespass, abandonment of animals and failure to provide sustenance following an incident on Center Road. On Aug. 13 at a residence on Center Road troopers allege that Kramer opened the door at a residence and left her five cats inside the residence while the homeowner was not home. She was issued appearance tickets for town court for Thursday.

HANOVER - On Sunday, a Lackawanna woman was jailed after allegedly becoming disorderly at Lake Shore Hospital.

Around 11:25 p.m., deputies were called to Lake Shore Hospital for a disorderly patient. Upon arrival it was discovered a patient at the hospital, Amy L. Kaplan, 22, of Lackawanna, allegedly became aggressive and caused damage to property within the hospital. Kaplan was arrested and brought before a judge who remanded her to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

MAYVILLE - On Wednesday, an inmate in the Chautauqua County Jail was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal tampering and second-degree obstructing governmental administration after allegedly spraying cleaning fluid into two smoke detectors to disable them.

Around 9:20 a.m., while incarcerated in the Chautauqua County Jail on a charge of second-degree criminal possession of a loaded firearm, inmate Nathaniel D. Hollins Jr., 21, of Silver Creek, is alleged to have sprayed cleaning solution from a spray bottle into two smoke detector heads in the housing unit. This action did cause a malfunction in the system and destroyed one of the smoke detector heads. The replacement parts are valued at $150.

Hollins was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal tampering and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. He will appear in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.
