Beaches closing
The Point Gratiot Beach in the city will close today until Sept. 1, while all city beaches will close after Labor Day.
Portland Board of Fire Commissioners to meet Tuesday
A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Portland Fire District will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for the purpose of review and formulation of the 2013 Fire District budget and any other business that may come before the board.
The public is encouraged and welcome to attend all meetings of the board.
South Dayton to hold Music in the Park on Aug. 29
The Gold Tones will play in the South Dayton Village Park Gazebo on Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Bring your lawn chairs and come enjoy an evening of music.
The summer music program is sponsored by the town of Dayton, the town of Villenova, the village of South Dayton and the New York State Council of the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program administered by the Cattaraugus Arts Council.
