LILY DALE - John White, teacher of the spiritual sciences for more than 35 years, will hold a special workshop event Friday to Sunday, Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, during the final full week of Lily Dale's summer season.
There is a fee for each workshop session: Friday, Aug. 31, 7 to 10 p.m., $65, "Getting in Touch with Your Sacred Self;" Saturday, Sept. 1, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., $65, "Awaken the Gifts of Mediumship;" Saturday, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., $65, "Past, Present and Future Lives,: Sunday, Sept. 2, 8 to 10 a.m., $45, "Developing Your Dream Body;" Sunday, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., $65, "Energy Medicine and the Medical Intuitive Mind." It is also possible to attend the entire series of workshops for one fee of $270.
White travels throughout America and Canada teaching various spiritual topics. He has been featured on the Discovery Channel, the Vision Channel and had been a host of "Journey of Light," a television show that previously aired in Canada. He is the co-founder and current vice president of the Spiritual Science Fellowship in Montreal. He is a practicing medium and intuitive counselor.
A special night of entertainment is planned Saturday, Sept. 1, at 8:15 p.m. in the auditorium to support the Lily Dale Endowment Fund. Donating to the fund affords community members the opportunity to further assist Lily Dale in the maintenance of its historic buildings and grounds. All contributions are tax-deductible and will benefit Lily Dale for the years to come.
If unable to make the event, it is possible to contribute to the fund by mailing a check or money order to: The Lily Dale Assembly, P.O.Box 248, Lily Dale, NY 14752. Make the check or money order out to "Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation" and on the memo area of the check or money order write "Lily Dale Endowment Fund." In addition, donations up to $1,000 may be made online using Lily Dale's donations form.
On Aug. 27 and 28, there will be a two-part workshop entitled "Reiki Awakening: The New Modality." Alice Langholt, part of the Healing Services Department at the Cleveland Clinic, where she gives Reiki to patients and staff, will teach the classes. They will begin at 9 a.m. in the Lyceum Building each day. There is a $90 fee for this two-day workshop.
Patricia Price will hold a two-day workshop Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8-9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The fee is $295 for both days or $150 per class. The event will be held in the Leolyn Hotel Garden Room. The workshop, entitled "Med-iumship Experiences," will help participants deepen their skills as mediums and unfold their personal spiritual paths. Saturday will feature the process of healing and spirit guide communication, while on Sunday the focus will be on past-life, future-life and life-between-life and mediumship clarity. Participants are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture spirit and energy images.

There is a special post-season Women's Empowerment Weekend Sept. 14 through 16, led by Shirley C. Smith and Joan McElligott. The fee for the entire weekend is $160. Events will be held Friday from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The theme of the weekend is "Finding (Allowing) Alignment with Your Inner Being (Spirit)."
Shirley Calkins Smith is a facilitator and teacher of Transformation Breathwork, EFT and Ho'oponopono. She is a registered medium in Lily Dale. Joan McElligott has actively been involved in self-help and self-actualization for more than 30 years. She has a background in breathwork, Psyche-K, Emotional Freedom Technique, Matrix Energetics and Ho'oponopono.
Also after the season, Connie Dutcher and Natalie Larson will present an event called "Welcome Back the Fairies," set for Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Lyceum Building. There is a limit of 10 people being allowed and admission is by any voluntary donation. Dutcher and Larson started the Fairy Trail in Lily Dale many years ago both to honor the fairies and to give people an interesting place to walk in the Lily Dale woods. Those attending will help brighten up the Fairy Trail. Come in work clothes and bring a lunch.
