Sean M. McNiff, 19, of Central Avenue was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and a warrant on Aug. 21. At 3:22 p.m. police responded to a suspicious activity report on Maple Avenue and observed two males who were questioned. McNiff, one of the males, was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. He was held at Fredonia Police.
Carolyn K. Bane, 49, was charged with second-degree harassment on Aug. 19. A victim came into Fredonia Police saying Bane had allegedly verbally harassed her. This victim had previously reported to police about an incident involving Bane as well. Bane later turned herself into Fredonia Police on a summons. She was released on an appearance ticket.
Jermaine L. Fann, 26, of Carol Avenue was charged with a first-degree assault warrant and a parole warrant on Aug. 24. Fann was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over on Route 20 at 7:45 p.m. He was released to a third party.
Genevieve M. Faivre, 21, of Birchwood Drive was charged with violating the noise ordinance. Police responded to the complaint of a loud noise coming from Faivre's resident at 11:16 p.m. Police found the noise to be coming from an apparent party. Faivre was released on an appearance ticket.
James R. McNeight, 20, of West Seneca was charged with disorderly conduct on Aug. 25. At 2:21 a.m. police observed McNeight on Day Street hit a street sign with another sign that he had in his possession. McNeight then threw the sign at a tent set up in Barker Common. He was held on $100 bail.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
Shane E. Latta, 48, of Mayville, was charged with second-degree harassment on after an alleged incident at the Kwik Fill in Mayville. It is alleged that Latta threatened another person. Latta was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.
Erie County Court in Pennsylvania issued a bench warrant for failure to appear on Jason Meredith, 33, of Ripley. Sheriff's deputies and New York State Parole went to Meredith's residence and executed the warrant without incident. Meredith was arraigned in the Town of Ripley Court as a fugitive from justice. He was committed to Chautauqua County Jail and awaits extradition to Erie County Court, Pa.
Around 3 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Alleghany Road in Sunset Bay. The suspect vehicle was stopped for the violation and Jordan Chevier, 19, of Buffalo, was found to be the operator. Further investigation led to the charge driving while intoxicated. She was issued traffic tickets and will appear in Hanover Court.
