Meister competes at Tri-Dunkirk

August 30, 2012
The OBSERVER

Friends and family of Heather Meister gathered at Wright Park in Dunkirk to rally in support of her participation in the 2012 Tri-Dunkirk. There were "Go Heather" shirts made and donated by Airon Gruber and Amanda McClean. Meister traveled from Maryland where she works at Lockheed and Martin as a defense contractor. Many locals may know her through grandfather Dr. Peter Meister, a well-known OB-GYN from the Dunkirk area. This is the second triathlon Meister has competed in, her first being in May. Meister has managed to devote herself to being healthy and training for such events. She has lost 105 pounds since last June. Pictured from left are Airon Gruber, Ben Karin, Laura Karin, Marty Ball, Meister, Jane Ball, Paula Barnett and Rick Cain. See results on Page B3.
