GOWANDA - The Gowanda Panthers (0-1) did not get off to the start they had hoped for as they fell 48-0 Friday to Wilson (1-0) in Class C high school football action.
Wilson scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and held a comfortable 34-0 halftime lead.
Gowanda's leading rusher was Brennan Geiger who had 70 yards on 22 carries while Walker Cygan had 47 yards on eight rushes. Quarterback Chase Williams went 4 of 6 in the air. He connected twice with Nick Andrews for 32 yards and twice with John McCarthy for 28 yards.
