It was a car lover's dream in Fredonia Friday night. The fourth annual American Legion Post 59 Car Cruise drew those who love cars and those who love to look at them.
Carol Marx, who belongs to the legion, organized the event which she started four years ago when she wanted to do something for the post.
"I belonged to the legion for years and wanted to do something for them," Marx said.

Carol Marx organized the event at the American Legion. This is her fourth year doing the event and she brought her Camaro to show. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Chautauqua County Veterans Van.
More than 40 cars and trucks ranging from the 1930s to 2000s were displayed in the legion's parking lot and front lawn. Along with the cars on display, the event featured live music by Sammy Slicker and the Blackjacks, door prizes, 50/50, a silent auction, hot dogs and glow sticks for sale. All proceeds went to the Chautauqua County Veterans Van, a service for veterans to transport them to and from doctor visits. Marx picked the organization after finding out they run on donations.
While they did not sponsor the event, many members of the Lake Shore Street Rod Association came out to show their cars. Michael Sweet of Mayville brought his 1969 Dodge Superbee to the show.
"I like to come to car shows to see what other people have done to their cars," he said. "You get to see friends that you haven't seen in a while."
Each year the event is larger than the previous year both with cars and the numbers of those who attend the event.
"I'm totally touched by the support of everyone that came out tonight," Marx said.
Marx also was appreciative for all the support she received in preparation for the event and Friday night.
"Thank you to everyone that donated, came out and to the businesses (that donated)," she said. "Everybody has been very generous."
The event is held annually on the Friday before Labor Day. All cars are welcome that owners "are proud of," Marx said.
