Twenty years ago - 1992

Brocton Central School Senior Stephanie Ringer has won a trip to London during Christmas time this year as a result of being chosen a winner in an all-star cheerleading competition held recently at a Universal Cheerleading Association Camp. The daughter of Ronald and Diane Ringer of Brocton, she has been cheering since the sixth grade.

Thirty years ago - 1982

"Proclaim the Greatness of God" was the theme of the liturgy as Sister Marilyn Ann Dudek professed life commitment through the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience Aug. 15 in Villa Maria Convent Chapel, Buffalo. The liturgy and perpetual profession of Sister Marilyn was celebrated by her cousin, the Rev. Robert Stolinski. Sister Marilyn is the daughter of Harry Dudek of Dunkirk and the late Rita Dudek. Formerly of St. Hyacinth's Parish, she entered the Order of the Felician Sisters in August 1973.

Forty years ago - 1972

Katherine Jackson, daughter of Mrs. Marjorie Jackson of Sinclairville, is the Calendar Girl of the Month. She is a senior at Cassadaga Valley Central School.

Fifty years ago - 1962

Fredonia State University College officials have announced the college will lease the former Andrew Pinkerton Jr. house at 170 Central Ave. for offices and possibly a classroom this fall.
